GROUNDBREAKING OF TRUNG NAM TRA VINH SOLAR POWER PLANT

On January 19, 2019, in Dan Thanh commune (Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province), Trung Nam Group held the groundbreaking of Trung Nam Tra Vinh Solar Power Plant project in combination with high tech farming. Mr. Tran Anh Dung - Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee attended.

Mr. Do Van Kien, General Director of Trung Nam Tra Vinh Solar Power Company (Trungnam Tra Vinh Solar Power) said that Trung Nam Tra Vinh solar power plant project has a scale of 171ha with a total capacity of 165 MWp, and expected to be completed and put into operation in 2019.

With a scale of 171 ha including 32 inverter stations, one 2x90 MVA transformer station, and more than 440,000 solar panels installed on more than 7,000 racks. According to Mr. Kien, with this project, Trungnam Tra Vinh Solar Power accompanies Tra Vinh province in implementing the project in remote areas of the province with the goal of reducing the load, ensuring electricity demand for the region.

In addition, the project will connect with electricity, supply electricity to the country, and support energy security for areas that do not have access to the national grid.

“The decisive advantage of this project is the ability to connect and release the capacity of Duyen Hai power center to the 500 / 220kV station. Thanks to this ability, the entire solar exploitation system of the project is immediately raised to 100% capacity on the national grid system. ” Mr. Do Van Kien said.

Mr. Do Van Kien stated that Tra Vinh is a coastal province, located between Tien River and Hau River. The average annual radiation measured in the coastal area of Tra Vinh province ranges from 1700kWh to 1900 kWh/m2 with the average daily radiation of more than 4.9 kWh/m2. The terrain of many bow-shaped sand dunes helps the coastal area of Tra Vinh to achieve the necessary conditions and sufficient potential for the development of solar energy projects.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Tra Vinh Vice Chairman Tran Anh Dung said the Prime Minister's renewable energy planning - development from 2011 to 2020 (with consideration to 2030) is to uses solar energy to increase the rate of electricity extracted from the solar energy, increase the exploitation on concentrated and scattered sources.

“Trung Nam Tra Vinh solar power plant project is a move to respond to the energy planning in the Southwestern provinces. The investment in building factories in the town not only helps to protect the environment from greenhouse gas emissions but also creates job opportunities for local residents, promotes individual economic development, contributes to development economy - society and welfare for the region”, Mr. Dung said.

Trungnam Tra Vinh Solar Power's business activities will bring benefits through tax obligations, create jobs for more than 1500 employees during project construction; At the same time, it pledged to support the province to develop culture and education from local volunteer activities. In addition, Mr. Dung evaluated that the deployment of high-tech agriculture together with solar power plants with short-term crops would be a good model for local people to learn from experiences for economic development.
Vice-Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province asked Trungnam Group to urgently complete investment procedures, focus on the project of the solar power plant to ensure progress, quality, the safety of the project. The priority is given to using local labor resources to create jobs for local people during the project implementation.
